Udinese

Udinese have made winger Gerard Deulofeu’s loan from Watford permanent for an undisclosed fee on a contract until 2024.

Burnley

Burnley defenders Matt Lowton and Kevin Long and winger Johann Berg Gudmundsson have all signed new two-year contracts whilst left-back Erik Pieters has signed a one-year contract extension.

AS Roma

AS Roma have re-signed winger Stephan El Shaarawy from Shanghai Shenhua on a free transfer.

Barcelona

Barcelona plan to find loan deals for young duo Matheus and Todibo before Monday’s transfer deadline with pair not in Koeman’s first-team plans

According to Spanish publication Marca, Barcelona plan to loan Matheus Fernandes before the January transfer window closes, as well as switching the loan club for Jean-Clair Todibo.

Neither are part of Ronald Koeman’s first-team picture, so it would be much better for them to be afforded regular football elsewhere, with their development and position as assets in mind.

Fernandes only officially arrived at Barcelona in the summer, having been signed last January for an initial fee of €7m from Palmeiras, in a deal worth up to €10m including potential add-ons, per the club.

Marca report that La Liga relegation candidates Elche and Deportivo Alaves are keen on the Brazilian midfielder, though an agreement has not been sealed as of yet.

Then comes the matter of Jean-Clair Todibo, the ace is already out on loan with Benfica but is seeing no action and a switch is being worked on.

Real Madrid

Real Madrid will make a move to sign Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe this summer, according to reports.

The La Liga giants have been heavily linked with a move for the France international in recent months.

Liverpool are also said to be part of the race for Mbappe, whose contract at the Parc des Princes runs until 2022.

PSG are hoping to tie the 22-year-old down to a new deal, but they could be forced to cash in on the World Cup winner this summer unless he puts pen to paper on an extension.

It has previously been reported that Mbappe has always dreamed of playing for Madrid, but he would also be keen on a stint at Anfield.

Perhaps in a bid to steal a march on Liverpool, Real Madrid are making preparations to try and sign Mbappe this summer, according to Marca.

Chelsea

Having already taken his very first Chelsea training session, manager Thomas Tuchel wants the Blues stars to have an understanding of his tactics.

He was on the bench for the match versus Wolverhampton Wanderers on Wednesday night, and that gave him a reasonable idea straight away as to which areas he may be keen to strengthen in.

The German does not have long in this window to bring in new faces, but that will not stop him going back to his old club, Paris Saint Germain, to test the waters.

According to a recent report from the Daily Mirror, Thomas is looking to bring Idrissa Gueye back to the English top-flight.

The holding midfielder was signed for the Parisians by Tuchel in a £27 million deal with Everton, and given that the Senegal international hasn’t really made his mark at the Parc des Princes outfit this season, he will certainly jump at the chance to reignite his career under his former coach.

The west Londoners need cover at the very least in that zone of the pitch, however, Idrissa is hardly likely to move to the London-based heavyweights unless he knows he will be the first choice.

Manchester United

Manchester United youngster James Garner terminates spell at Watford and is set for a new loan deal.

A report by Manchester Evening News claims that United midfielder James Garner is set to join Championship side, Nottingham Forest, on loan this month for the remainder of the season.

The 19-year-old was loaned to Watford last summer. He had a brilliant start to life in the Championship, as he played in all but one of their opening 19 league games.

However, things changed when the Hornets fired manager Vladimir Ivic and appointed Xisco Munoz. Since the Spaniard’s appointment, Garner has played just 40 minutes of football. (h/t Manchester Evening News)

Manchester United and Watford have both agreed to terminate the loan deal. And Garner is now set to join two time European Cup winners Forest on loan for the remainder of the season.

Arsenal

Arsenal are allegedly tracking Brentford’s Ivan Toney ahead of a summer swoop for the Championship’s joint top scorer.

Ivan has been linked with a move to the English top-flight after becoming a star in the second division.

The striker has netted 16 goals and assisted four more in 23 games this season.

According to Express, Arsenal are monitoring his progress and will wait until the summer to table a bid.

The report states that the Gunners are big admirers of the attacker but they don’t have the transfer funds available to land him this month.

Club chiefs reportedly see Ivan as a long term replacement for Alexandre Lacazette. The French star turns 30 in May and is contracted until June 2022.

Toney is currently rated at £9 million by Transfermarkt, but Brentford’s reliance on their key player will see them hold out for a bigger sum.

It’s thought that his showings this term have made a good impression on the Gunners recruiting team
