Ben Chilwell equals his personal record in Chelsea’s draw against Aston Villa #CHEAVL

Chelsea football club’s poor run of form continues on Monday evening, as they played out a 1-1 draw against In-form Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge.

The former English Premier League Champions have not been finding it easier in the Premier League in recent weeks, as they’ve only won 1 of their last 5 matches, lost three, win one, and drew 1.

Coach Frank Lampard made a lot of changes to the team that lost 3-1 to Arsenal on Saturday, as Olivier Giroud, Hudson-Odoi, Rudiger, Christensen, and Cesar Azipilicueta were chosen ahead of regular players like Timo Werner, Kai Havertz, Thiago Silva, Mateo Kovacic, Kurt Zouma and Tammy Abraham.

Olivier Giroud opened scoring for the home team in the 34th minutes with a beautiful header, after receiving a fine cross from England star Ben Chilwell, to end the first half 1-0.

The away team equalized through Anwar El-Ghazi in the 50th minutes, through an assist from Matty Cash to make it 1-1.

Both teams tried all the best they could to score more goals, but they were denied by both goalkeepers as the match ended 1-1.

With Ben Chilwell’s 34th minutes assist, it means he has equalled his Premier League season-best tally of four.

“Ben Chilwell has equalled his Premier League season-best tally of four assists, with the Chelsea defender having as many goal involvements in this campaign as 2019/20 (6 – 2 goals, 4 assists).”

The draw against Aston Villa now means Chelsea FC are sitting in the 6th spot in the English Premier League table with 26th points from 16 matches played.
