Chelsea Players Dominate Premier League Team Of The Week For Matchday 5



Chelsea secured a dominant 3-0 win over Tottenham to extend their unbeaten run in Premier League to five games.

De Gea saved substitute Mark Noble dramatic injury-time penalty to give Manchester United a 2-1 win at West Ham Liverpool recorded a convincing 3-0 win over Crystal Palace 3-0 and champions Manchester City were held to a goalless draw by Southampton at the Etihad Stadium.

Brentford secured Wolves 2-0 to claim their first win on the road and Arsenal also got their first away win with a 1-0 victory at Burnley.

Aston Villa ended Everton’s unbeaten run with a 3-0 win over the Toffees, Brighton continued their impressive start to the season with a 2-1 win over Leicester and Watford won the battle of the two promoted sides as they beat Norwich 3-1.

Goalkeeper: David de Gea (Manchester United)

De Gea help secure all three points for Manchester United after standing tall to deny Mark Noble from the spot late at the London Stadium.

Defenders: James Milner (Liverpool), Thiago Silva (Chelsea ), Virgil van Dijk (Liverpool), Marcos Alonso (Chelsea)

Milner stepped in for Trent Alexander-Arnold, who missed the game due to illness and the former England international put in a solid performance. He made 15 recoveries, 3 interceptions, 4 tackles, 2 dribbles, 4 clearances, 1 chance created winning 10 duels.

Thiago Silva(CB) 

Thiago Silva put in a man of the match performance against Tottenham, the Brazilian opened the scoring with a beautiful header from Marcos Alonso inswinging corner. The former PSG defender also made 7 recoveries, 3 interceptions, 6 clearances, 1 successful tackle and won 5 duels

Virgil van Dijk (CB)

Van Dijk put in an impressive performance for Liverpool in the 3-0 win over Crystal Palace. The defender created 2 chances, won 7 duels, made 5 clearances, and 6 recoveries.

Marcos Alonso(LB)

Marcos Alonso solid start to the continues with a solid performance against Tottenham, the Spaniard had his volley tipped over acrobatically by Hugo Lloris before his inswinging corner was connected with by Thiago Silva to give Chelsea the opener. He created the most chances(5) in the game, he made 4 recoveries, 4 interceptions and made 3 clearances.

Midfielders: Mateo Kovacic (Chelsea), Martin Odegaard (Arsenal), N’Golo Kante (Chelsea)

Mateo Kovacic(CM)

Kovacic continues his solid start to the season with another impressive performance against Tottenham. The Croatian international created 2 chances, made 6 tackles, 7 recoveries, 2 dribbles, and won 7 duels. He assisted N’Golo Kante’s goal to take Chelsea two goals ahead.

N’Golo Kante(CM)

After a dull first half, N’Golo Kante was introduced in the second half to replace Mason Mount and the midfielder help swung the momentum to Chelsea side with his solid performance. His long range shot was deflected into the net by Eric Dier to take Chelsea 2-0 up. He also created a chance, made 3 recoveries, and won 3 duels.

Martin Odegaard (CM)

Odegaard scored the only goal of the match with a well taken freekick in the first half to help Arsenal record their second consecutive win in the Premier League. The Norwegian also created 2 chances, made 5 recoveries, and 2 tackles.

Ivan Toney(ST)

Toney put in a solid performance against Wolverhampton, winning and scoring the opener from the spot before assisting Bryan Mbeumo for the second goal to help Brentford to a 2-0 away win at Wolves. Sadio Mane (LW)

Sadio Mane scored the opening goal against Crystal Palace his 100th goal for Liverpool and his ninth consecutive goal against Palace.
