Chelsea Rumors: Blues Favorite Erling Haaland Made Transfer Decision

Chelsea is still among the big-name clubs reported to be tracking one of the best strikers in the world.
The January transfer window is fast approaching, and a wide array of clubs are hoping to land additional talents to their squad. In the English Premier League, Chelsea has been heavily linked to Borussia Dortmund goal machine Erling Haaland.
Widespread rumors swirled that despite already having signed Romelu Lukaku, Thomas Tuchel wants to bring in another world-class striker, with Haaland being the top priority. However, reputable transfer insider Gianluca Di Marzio recently revealed that the Norwegian has already made up his mind and would prefer to play for La Liga, the Spanish top flight. International Business Times could not independently verify this information.
“[Haaland] doesn’t like Premier League too much,” Di Marzio told German outlet Wettfreunde via Football.london. “It is not in his dreams. It is not the perfect league at the moment.”
“He prefers La Liga – he likes Liga a lot,” he continued. “So, I think in his thoughts, La Liga is the perfect tournament, now, to play in. Or Bundesliga, where he is currently playing.”
Erling Haaland
Nothing is concrete yet, but apparently, Di Marzio is right about Haaland’s preference.
It can be recalled that about a month before Christmas, Haaland’s agent Mino Raiola already hinted at the possibility of his client possibly moving to Spain, a place close to his heart.
“At the moment you cannot talk about anything, if you want about Christmas,” Raiola previously said of Haaland’s situation. “I do not talk about the market. Haaland likes Spain, he really likes his home in Spain.”
“Afterwards, it is too early to say where he is going to play next year. It is not good either,” he continued.
Apart from Haaland’s hefty €75 million ($85 million) release clause, the only thing known about his situation is that a move to a bigger club will happen.
“Maybe this summer, maybe the summer after,” Raiola said when quizzed on Haaland’s plans earlier this month. “But there is a big chance that Erling will leave this summer. We will see.”
“He can and will take the next step,” the agent added. “Bayern [Munich], Real [Madrid], Barcelona, [Manchester] City – these are the big clubs he can go to. City have won the championship five times in the last few years, much more than [Manchester] United. We all knew when we moved to Dortmund that this step would come.”
