The January transfer window is here and for Chelsea it could be a relatively quiet month.

After spending significant sums in the summer window on players such as Romelu Lukaku, Thomas Tuchel will be reluctant to spend big money on new additions.

Kenedy

Tuchel has called on Kenedy to ‘make his mark’ after Chelsea recalled the wing-back from his loan at Flamengo amid an injury crisis at Stamford Bridge.

Speaking to the media ahead of the Blues’ trip to Manchester City, Tuchel said: “Kenedy is back and I am very happy about it.

“It’s a huge opportunity for him to make his mark at this club and this team. We will try now, from today on, to push and support him.

“I will not talk as if Kenedy is the solution, but he is a solution.”

Antonio Rudiger

Rudiger will not sign a new deal at Chelsea – no matter how much the club offer him, talkSPORT understands.

The 28-year-old has emerged as one of the best defenders in the Premier League since Thomas Tuchel succeeded Frank Lampard as manager in January 2021.

And talkSPORT transfer inside Alex Crook has now provided an update which doesn’t make great reading for Blues fans.

Asked if he could stay, Crook responded: “I don’t think so, Jim.

“We know his advisors have been in talks with the likes of Real Madrid and PSG.

“I was told several weeks ago that it didn’t matter how much money Chelsea threw at him, his heart was set on a move to Real Madrid.

“We’ve seen numerous high profile examples – maybe Cristiano Ronaldo the highest of them all – of when a big club like Real Madrid come in for you it’s very difficult to keep them out of their clutches.”

Erling Haaland

Chelsea are waiting with bated breath as Erling Haaland prepares for talks with Borussia Dortmund over his future.

According to AS, the in-demand striker will hold talks with his employers in the hope of finding ‘a final resolution’ to his situation.

Haaland has been heavily linked with a move away next summer with clubs such as Chelsea, Man City, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain linked with a big-money move.

Emerson Palmieri

Chelsea are considering a move to recall Emerson Palmieri from his loan spell with Lyon.

The club are facing a selection crisis at left wing-back due to a season-ending injury picked up by Ben Chilwell.

While targets have been identified in the transfer market, the Blues are in talks over a £3.3million agreement to recall the Italy international from his loan spell to add vital cover to Thomas Tuchel’s squad.

Theo Hernandez

Chelsea could be set for a blow in their pursuit of Theo Hernandez with the news that he could be about to pen a new deal with AC Milan.

The France international was linked with a move to West London as a way to fill that troublesome left wing-back role that has been vacated by the injured Chilwell.

Tuchel’s side were quoted £60million for the player, however in an interview with Sky Italia the player revealed that talks over a new contract at the San Siro are ‘at an advanced stage’
