All the latest Chelsea injury news and return dates ahead of the Blues’ Champions League clash against Sevilla on Wednesday night

Ben Chilwell in action against Spurs

Chelsea played out a goalless draw with Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday, as both London rivals struggled to create clear cut chances.

The Blues came into the game looking to go top of the Premier League table, and were boosted by the return of some of their key players.

But neither team could break the deadlock and had to settle for a point, with Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho claiming after the game that his players were disappointed with the result.

“A draw at Stamford Bridge is usually a positive thing and staying top of the league is also a positive thing,” he told  Sports Extral

“But my dressing room isn’t happy with that and that is fantastic. It’s a complete change of mentality and personality.

“That was a game where we respected them and they respected us. Nobody gambled today or tried to change the direction of the game. Everybody was in a situation of one mistake wins the game, especially in the last 15 minutes.”

He continued: “The game did not have many chances. It is a game where we both wanted to win. We respect each other. Nobody gambled.

“They had one shot from distance, we had more in the first half than the second. I think a big game is difficult for both teams.”

Next up, Chelsea travel to Sevilla on Wednesday evening. Here is all the latest injury news ahead of the Blues’ Champions League clash.

Ben Chilwell

Ben Chilwell looked to pick up a nasty ankle injury in the clash against Spurs on Sunday.

The left-back went down with 15 minutes remaining of the match following a tackle with Serge Aurier, rolling his right ankle.

However, after receiving medical attention from two members of Chelsea staff, the defender finished the match and stated after the game that it was looking ok for the match against Sevilla.

“I was desperate to carry on and thankfully I ran it off,” Chilwell said after the game. “It’s fine now so I’m just looking forward to recovering and hopefully playing again in midweek.”

Christian Pulisic

The winger had missed the last five matches with a recurring hamstring complaint, but made his return for Chelsea against Tottenham, coming off the bench in the second half.

The American’s return to fitness could provide Frank Lampard with the option to field Timo Werner through the middle, with the Germany international recently preferred on the left hand side of the Blues’ front three.

Pulisic could be pushing to start against Sevilla in midweek.

Kai Havertz

Havertz tested positive for coronavirus before the international break and missed the games against Sheffield United and Newcastle.

However, the former Bayer Leverkusen midfielder returned to the squad against Rennes last week, and was again on the bench against Tottenham.

Lampard could hand the midfielder his first start for several weeks against Sevilla.

Billy Gilmour

Gilmour is edging closer and closer towards a return to the first-team fold after a lengthy spell on the sidelines with a serious knee injury.

Since suffering the problem in Chelsea’s win over Crystal Palace in July, the Scotland youngster has not seen any first-team action, though he has played for both Chelsea and Scotland’s Under-21s.

He got some much-needed minutes in his legs over the international break, featuring for Scotland’s Under-21s, although he was sent off against Croatia after coming on at half time.

He missed the game with Greece U21s last Wednesday, but instead played for an hour for the Chelsea U21s in their EFL Trophy loss against Bristol Rovers.

Last Sunday, Gilmour bolstered his claim for a return to first-team action with a goal for the U23s against Manchester City.

Elsewhere, Hakim Ziyech started against Tottenham on Sunday, but was withdrawn with seven minutes to go after being booked. This is thought to have been a tactical decision from Lampard, and the Moroccan was not carrying any sort of injury.
