English Premier League Players Of The Week After Match-Day 11 (Top 5 Nominees)

It was an exciting weekend of football in the English Premier League with lots of goals scored on Saturday & Sunday.

We saw wins for the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool, Manchester City, and even Tottenham had the better of Arsenal in the London Derby.

It was the first of many matches going into the hectic December – January schedule.

Let’s take a look at the top five most outstanding players from the weekend in the EPL.

1. Mason Mount (Chelsea)

Chelsea rallied back from an early goal to make it 8 matches on a row with a loss. Goals from Giroud, Zouma & Pulisic did the job for Lampard, but Mason Mount was the spark of the team.

The Englishman created 7 chances and completed 6 crosses against Leeds (the highest by any Chelsea player this season).

He then put the icing on the cake with an assist to Kurt Zouma from the corner flag for Chelsea’s second on the night.

2. Kevin De Bruyne (Manchester City)

It was Pep Guardiola’s 700th game as a manager and De Bruyne made it happen once more for the Citizen.

Sterling got the first goal thanks to an assist from the Belgian. De Bruyne would also go on to double the lead from the spot-kick.

3. Harry Kane & Heung-Mi Son (Tottenham)

This might just be the season where Spurs will win something tangible considering the firepower of these two men upfront.

Both of them were the chief tormentors as Arsenal fell in the London Derby. Kane set up Son for the opener 13 minutes into the match, and the South-Korean returned the favor just before halftime.

Kane now becomes the all-time top scorer in the North London derby with 11 goals.

5. Wilfred Zaha (Crystal Palace)

Zaha grabbed his 6th & 7th goal of the season courtesy of a brace in a 5-1 demolition of West Bromwich Albion.

Teaming up with Christian Benteke, both strikers caused lots of havoc for the West Brom defenders.
