Chelsea secured a crucial win against Porto in what seems to be an interesting game of football. It’s not surprising to see Chelsea edge past Porto in the first leg of their Quarterfinal clash. However, if you watched the game you would realise Chelsea were quite lucky to have gotten a positive result.
Mason Mount grabbed the first goal of the night for the London side after their poor start to the game. The game simply came at the right time as Chelsea was under great pressure from the Portuguese side. Mason Mount turned Swiftly from Porto defenders before driving a low shot past the helpless goalkeeper.
After scoring the breakthrough goal, many would have thought Chelsea would get back into the game but things wasn’t as expected. Chelsea continued to soak the pressure as Porto continue to trouble their defence line. However, the likes of Rudiger and Christensen did well to prevent Marega and Corona from grabbing an equaliser.
Chelsea doubled their lead in the closing stages of the second half through Ben Chilwell. The England Left Back did enough to take the ball past Porto’s goalkeeper before tapping the ball into an empty net.
