Hakim Ziyech’s fitness, Reece James worry, Kai Havertz call – Chelsea predicted team vs West Ham #CHEWHU

The big outstanding question is whether Hakim Ziyech is fit enough to play after 16 days out with a hamstring injury picked up in the 3-1 win at home to Leeds United.

The Moroccan returned to training on Friday but Lampard will be wary of risking him if he is not 100% recovered.
Without Ziyech, Chelsea’s attack has been limp in the defeats away to Everton and Wolves.

The back four looks settled now but Reece James will likely miss out after a scan on a knee injury following a knock sustained against Wolves. Should the England right back be absent, club captain Cesar Azpilicueta will return to the starting line-up.

Rotation will be inevitable during a Christmas schedule that also sees Chelsea play away to Arsenal on December 26 and at home to Aston Villa on December 28 but perhaps not tonight.

Tammy Abraham will come back in for Olivier Giroud at some point over the next 10 days but West Ham’s physicality suggests that the Frenchman will continue to lead the line.

Kai Havertz could be given a breather with Mateo Kovacic coming back into midfield but Lampard again stressed the need for patience regarding the 21-year-old yesterday afternoon and it is clear that he needs to work his way into form.
