Malaysian Football League (MFL)
Malaysian Football League (MFL) has released the official schedule of the Malaysian League which will open the curtain with the Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Cup contributor match to find last season’s Super League champions, Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) and Kedah Darul Aman FC at the Sultan Ibrahim Iskandar Puteri Stadium on March 5, 2021.
According to MFL Chief Executive Officer, Dato ‘Ab Ghani Hassan, he hopes that all Malaysian League teams consisting of the Super League and Super League will be able to take advantage of the best preparations after the official schedule has been announced.
However, Dato ‘Ab Ghani also hoped that the teams would remain focused and disciplined in complying with the standard operating procedures (SOP) set by the government during the Movement Control Order (PKP) period during the COVID-19 pandemic.
He further explained that Dato ‘Ab Ghani admitted that the teams are working hard to adapt to the new norms.
But at the same time he is optimistic that all those involved in the football industry are able to perform their duties as well as the Malaysia League season 2020 successfully carried out without triggering any cluster of epidemics.
“MFL has released the official schedule of the Malaysian League, namely the Super League and Premier League today.
“As previously informed by the MFL where there is no FA Cup tournament for the 2021 season, I hope all teams can prepare the best in ensuring quality performance after the league schedule has been released.
At the same time, I also hope that all teams will always remain compliant with each SOP where each team has been given permission to hold a bubble-based training program through two methods, namely ‘Home’ and ‘Camp Quarantine’.
“MFL realizes that it is not an easy task for the national football industry at the moment but I believe the harmony of the Malaysian League will remain awake if we all play the role as we have managed to do that is free from any cluster throughout the Malaysia League for the 2020 season,” he said. he said in an official statement.
At the same time, Dato ‘Ab Ghani hopes that spectators will be able to make appearances at the stadium on a small scale if the case of new COVID-19 patients decreases in the future.
He said, MFL had previously made an application to the government regarding the proposal to bring in small-scale spectators to the Ministry of Youth and Sports last November.
“Not to be forgotten is the MFL President, Datuk Haji Hamidin Haji Mohd Amin and I have discussed the influx of spectators at an early stage if the COVID-19 pandemic case decreases in the future to the Minister of Youth and Sports, Dato ‘Sri Reezal Merican.
“That is the hope of the MFL where we want the venue to be cheered on by local football fans.
“I also want to take this opportunity to thank KBS for its support to local football throughout the Malaysia League in the 2020 season and the 2021 season,” he said.
