Manchester City Starting XI vs Manchester United: Confirmed Team News, Latest Injuries Premier League Today #MUNMCI

Pep Guardiola has confirmed that Sergio Aguero will not come straight back into his Manchester City line-up for Saturday’s derby against Manchester United.

The Argentine made a goalscoring return as a substitute in the win over Marseille in midweek, but with the forward having struggled with injury this season, Guardiola is in no mood to rush him back.

“His instinct to score will always be there. He’s had three or four training sessions and the reaction was good,” Guardiola said. “He had 25 minutes and scored a goal. Step by step.”

With City already through to knockout stage of the Champions League as group winners, Guardiola had the luxury of resting many of his star names for the dead rubber against Marseille.

It means the likes of Kevin de Bruyne, Rodri, Ruben Dias, Ederson and Benjamin Mendy had the night off.

However, Ilkay Gundogan was taken off at half-time as a precaution so City will be hoping he is back fit.

Man City predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Ederson; Walker, Stones, Dias, Mendy; Rodri, Gundogan; Mahrez, De Bruyne, Sterling; Jesus
