Nigerian Team Of The Week: Impressive Ajayi, Aina, Iwobi, Mukairu, Aluko And Onuachu Selected

After a glorious weekend with great goals and great performances, Ademetan Abayomi picks the best XI.
Adeleye Adebayo [Hapoel Jerusalem]
Came and won everything in the air while also making several important clearances and saves. Needed to be alert throughout, especially towards the end. Tremendous.
Ola Aina [Fulham]
An all-round top performance adding just as much to the attack as to the defence. Worked well with the highly-impressive Tosin Adarabioyo. Assiduous.
Reuben Nicodemus [Nasarawa United]
In the right place to net a brace for the Solid Miners who beat Wikki Tourists 2-1. Set his standards high from the off and a solid pillar in the defence throughout. Capacious.
Leon Balogun [Rangers]
Kept the Hibernian forwards quiet and dominated, particularly in the air. Always looking to set up a counter-attack. Gregarious.
Semi Ajayi [West Bromwich Albion]
Kept any attacks down his left to the minimum and such was his control that Liverpool’s frontline was like a rudderless ship. Enjoyed lots of possession and netted the equaliser with a sweet header. Dangerous.
Wilfred Ndidi [Leicester City]
Whatever language the Super Eagles star communicates with in a multi-national team it works. Ndidi’s contribution against Manchester United was typical of his performance throughout. Joyous.
Jide Fatokun [Kwara United]
Purred away in the centre of the pitch, bossing the midfield and adding rhythm and attitude to Kwara United. Scored the opening goal with a classy header. Audacious.
Alex Iwobi [Everton]
Iwobi has a massive heart, full of determination and movement. Was impressive as Everton beat Sheffield United 1-0. Adventurous.
Paul Mukairu [Anderlecht]
Mukairu scored his second goal of the season in the win over Beerschot. Playing with a smile on his face and mischief in his boots, he popped up everywhere, scoring. Miraculous.
Paul Onuachu [Genk]
Played a non-stop game and was involved in everything good. Scored his 15th league goal of the season in the draw with Waasland-Beveren. Fabulous.
Sone Aluko [Reading]
Controlling the action while rolling back the years, the forward provided an assist as Reading edged Luton Town 2-1. Incredulous.
