Chelsea again missed out on the chance to go top of the Premier League after they were beaten by Wolves on Tuesday evening.

On the same night, Manchester City were held to a 1-1 draw by a spirited West Brom performance.

Tonight, crisis-hit Arsenal drew 1-1 with Southampton as they avoided a fifth straight home league defeat.

At the same time, Leeds beat Newcastle 5-2 while Leicester lost 2-0 at home to Everton before the standout game of midweek saw champions Liverpool take top spot by beating title challengers Tottenham 2-1 at Anfield.

There was also a London derby in store on Wednesday as in-form West Ham were held to a 1-1 draw by ten-man Crystal Palace, while Fulham picked up a point with a 0-0 draw against Brighton.

The gameweek concludes with Aston Villa hosting Burnley on Thursday and Manchester United visiting Sheffield United.
