The Algerian believes despite losing twice to Chelsea, Manchester still hold the psychological advantage
Manchester City winger, Riyad Mahrez has sent warning message to Chelsea who have just the UCL to hope for this season.
Chelsea on Saturday did disappointedly suffer defeat to FA Cup finalists opponents, Leicester City with a fine strike from Youri Tielemans to hand the Foxes their first FA Cup trophy.
It also marked the first time a team lost the FA Cup final back to back as Chelsea lost in the previous season to Arsenal.
This came after a shocking loss to Arsenal that kept Chelsea’s top four hopes in doubt with victory from Liverpool during the weekend closing the gaps down to a single point
Chelsea is expected to go all hard against Manchester City on 29th of May after managing to overcome the league leaders twice this season.
Thomas Tuchel‘s arrival has indeed brought an absolute change to the Blues squad but Mahrez believes their recent change doesn’t make them psychologically in advantage when the stage is set for the UCL final clash.
Speaking ahead of the game Mahrez said; “No, Chelsea don’t have the psychological advantage over us!
“All games are different. A Champions League final is not the same,” the former Leicester City man added.
