Thomas Tuchel will be handed a £150million transfer warchest by Chelsea

Thomas Tuchel will be handed a £150million transfer warchest by Chelsea. The Blues board are delighted with the job the German has done since he arrived in January.

Chelsea have serious money to spend this summer as they continue their bid to get back to the top of the PremIer League

Thomas Tuchel is set to be rewarded for the sensational start he has made to his Chelsea managerial tenure with a huge summer transfer warchest.

The German was appointed in January as Frank Lampard’s successor and inherited a fractured dressing room as well as a side languishing in mid-table obscurity.

Tuchel’s impact has been as impressive as it has been instant, however, with the Blues on the verge of an FA Cup and Champions League double, while a top four finish is within their grasp, despite Wednesday’s shock defeat against Arsenal.

The former Paris Saint-Germain coach arrived too late in January to add to the squad he was left by his predecessor but, according to The Sun, Tuchel will have around £150million to spend this summer having won the trust of influential director Marina Granovskaia

Lampard oversaw an unprecedented summer of spending, but only under Tuchel have Chelsea begun to see the best of headline recruits Kai Havertz, Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech and Ben Chilwell.

Despite boasting one of the strongest squads in European football, Chelsea are looking to make significant additions during the close season with a striker top of Tuchel’s wishlist.

Erling Haaland and Romelu Lukaku represent Chelsea’s primary targets but both would command fees in excess of £100million, while central defence is also an area that may require strengthening

‘Transfer periods can be real mood-breakers between moods and clubs and I don’t want to have this ever again,’ Tuchel explained earlier this week.

‘The circumstances [of taking charge mid-season] had something of a simplicity. It was very tough to leave my family for this period of time but it meant a huge simplicity to my life here as a coach. It’s been only, only about coaching this team.

‘No second thoughts about bringing someone in or letting someone go, it was crystal clear to step in and do what is needed and do what we do best: coaching
