UEFA Champions League Combined (XI) Team Of The Week For Match-Day Four

Matchday four of the UEFA Champions League gave us the returns legs of matchday three.
Six teams have now qualified to round-16 of the competition as the group stage gradually settles out.
Chelsea became the first team to make it into the knockout stage with a hard-fought victory in France. Thanks to Oliver Giroud who came of the bench to grab a last-minute winner.
A Messi-less Barcelona was still able to deliver with a 4-0 trashing off Dynamo Kyiv away from home.
Victory for the likes of Bayern Munich, Manchester City, Juventus, and Sevilla saw them book a ticket also for the last 16.
Bruno Fernandes was the MOTM as United got a pound of flesh back and more against Istanbul while Liverpool shockingly lost at Anfield to a team they had beaten 6-0 a few weeks back.
Eden Hazard got his first UCL goal since 2017 to help Real dispatch Inter and Robert Lewandowski scored his 71st UCL goal and have now tallied with Raul Gonzalez.
The only sad moment of the midweek was the news of the death of football icon, Diego Maradona.
In summary, it was a nice midweek of European football with over 40 goals scored across all centers.
Here are the outstanding players in each position from matchday four.
Goalkeeper – Eduoard Mendy (Chelsea)
Mendy was outstanding playing on the turf where he shone last season. He put up two brilliant saves in the second 45 to keep Chelsea in the game.
Right & Left Full-Backs – Sergino Dest & Zaidu Sanusi (Barcelona & Porto)
Barcelona had more presence from the right thanks to the pace and activeness of Dest who even opened proceedings in Ukraine for his first goal in a Barca shirt.
Sanusi was spot on as Porto got a deserved victory in France. He opened the scoring for his team.
Center Backs – Raphael Varane & David Alaba (Real Madrid & Bayern Munich)
Both Varane & Alaba were spot on with their tackles, clearances, and aerial duels.
In the absence of Sergio Ramos, the former marshaled the defence against the likes of Lukaku, Sanchez & Martinez.
Left & Right Midfield – Eden Hazard & Kingsley Coman (Real Madrid & Bayern Munich)
After over three years, Hazard not only scored in the UCL but also put up a beautiful performance. His sleek touches and dribbles caused problems for the opposition.
Coman got a fine goal and provided an assist to foster Bayern into the round of 16 with a 15-match winning streak.
Center Midfield – Bruno Fernandes & Lars Stindl (Manchester United & Borussia Monchengladbach)
Everything in Manchester United currently works through one man – Bruno Fernandes. Two goals and a penalty gift to Rashford at Old Trafford.
Monchengladbach recorded a 10-0 aggregate win over Shakthar Donestk and Stindl was key in both home & away victory. Picked up a goal and assists in the 4-0 home win.
Center Forward – Erling Haaland & Martin Braithwaite (Borussia Dortmund & Barcelona)
Haaland continued with his impressive record in the Champions League with two goals. He now tops the scorer’s chart with 6 goals.
In the absence of Lionel Messi, Braithwaite stepped up big for the Catalans with a brace and an assist for the opener.
