Africa Cup of Nations qualifying resumes for the first time in nearly a year, as Egypt host Togo in Cairo at 7pm on Saturday.

The tournament was initially set to take place in January-February of 2021 but has been pushed back on multiple occasions, now scheduled for 2022.

That rescheduling sees Egypt return to international action for the first time since 18 November 2019, when they drew 0-0 with Comoros.

The hiatus won’t have done much to decrease pressure on Pharaohs manager Hossam El Badry, who has drawn both of his Group G matches against Comoros and Kenya to leave Egypt third.

It is therefore a must-win game on Saturday in the first of two consecutive fixtures against bottom side Togo.
