Georgia vs Spain
World Cup Qualification
Date: Sunday, 28 March 2021
Kick-off at 16:00 UK/ 17:00 CET
Venue: Boris Paichadze Dinamo Arena.

La Roja are back with a vengeance. They used to rule football a decade back, with an unbelievably talented squad, filled with players from Real and Barca. However, after their triumph in the 2012 Euros, the team went through some major trauma.

They were humbled in the group stages in the 2014 World Cup, and in 2018, despite once again being favorites, they were eliminated in the Round of 16.

However, they have started to turn things around. They have secured entry into the semis of the Nations League, and in the process, they even delivered a massive 6-0 loss to the Germans.

However, they have begun their 2022 World Cup Qualification campaign on a dull note. They drew against Greece, and are now placed second in the table, behind Sweden, who have a lead of two points.

Sweden have an easier fixture this game week, and they do have the chance to post another huge win. Should Luis Enrique’s men drop points once more, they could make things complicated for themselves.

Thus, a win is a must this Sunday. And by the looks of things, La Roja have the upper hand as well.

The reason being – while they are ranked sixth in the world, their counterparts are placed 89th in the same list. Moreover, Enrique’s men have a great h2h record against this rival, and also have been one of the best teams in the world for the past several years.

Meanwhile, the Crusaders have even been struggling to make it through the Qualifiers of major competitions without mishaps.

By all means, expect Spain to post a huge win this weekend, and get their campaign back on track.

Georgia vs Spain: Head-to-head (h2h)

  • The 2010 World Champions have a 100% winning record in official games.
  • They are yet to concede in such fixtures.
  • The combined scorecard of the past two official encounters is 3-0, in favor of them.
  • At home, Willy Sagnol’s men lost the latest meeting, 0-1.

Georgia vs Spain Prediction

The Crusaders lost 1-0 on the road the last match-day, against Sweden. In the meantime, La Roja were held to a 1-1 draw the past game week by Greece.

Going on, Sagnol’s men were winless in 13 of their previous 16 overall games, and have won just once at home since June of 2019.

On the other hand, their counterparts were unbeaten in 19 of their last 20 overall match-ups, and they have lost just twice on the road since 2016.

They also have a great h2h record against this foe, and on top of that, they are also desperate to get to the top of the table.

Rightfully expect Spain to deliver a crushing win this Sunday.
