PSG vs Lens
France – Ligue 1
Date: Saturday 1st May 2021
Kick off at 16:00 UK/ 17:00 CET
Venue: Parc des Princes (Paris).
The games are coming thick and fast for PSG now and this season is turning into quite a roller coaster for the club.
In midweek the champions were dealt a hammer blow as they lost 2-1 at home to Manchester City in the semi-final 1st leg of the Champions League and they could e exiting the competition now. PSG have been put out to 11.00 (10/1) to win the competition now.
PSG are back to the league focus for the weekend and they should have little problems in beating Lens but then again this is a season where PSG have lost 8 times. The club are usually in 1st place and 15 points clear by now so for their standards this has been a poor season.
Mauricio Pochettino’s team are 1 point behind league leaders Lille but they also have Monaco and Lyon on their tails and Monaco are only one point behind PSG. Perhaps the good news for PSG is that they are in form and have won their last 3 games in a row. Last weekend they were able to beat Metz 3-1 away from home.
Lens are in 5th place and have had a fantastic season for them. They won’t be able to finish 4th because they are currently 11 points behind Lyon but they are on course for the qualifiers of the Europa League.
Lens are unbeaten in their last five games and they won their 15th game of the season last weekend as they beat Nimes. Away from home Lens actually have a slightly better record than at home and are also unbeaten in their last five games. They have lost just 4 times on the road so far.

- The teams haven’t played in Paris since 2015 when PSG won 4-1.

PSG vs Lens: Prediction
If PSG were many points in front we could say that Lens could cause another upset, but that isn’t the case and this is a must win game for the champions, any dropped points would really hand an advantage to Lille.
We expect PSG to do well but they are not worth backing and instead it is worth going for the away win but on the handicap. This PSG team can get the win they need but can they score many goals to go with it? Possibly not and let’s remember that Lens are playing good football and are one of the best form sides in Ligue 1.
We will back Lens on the handicap and we think the goals should open up as the game goes on to the latter stages, so this is a good market to back also.
