Wolves 2-1 Chelsea player ratings: Timo Werner and Kai Havertz struggle as Blues lose again

After defeat to Everton at the weekend, Chelsea were unable to get back to winning ways as their Premier League title hopes took another blow
Chelsea’s title credentials took a hammer blow as Pedro Neto’s stoppage time effort consigned them to another defeat.
The Blues are considered by many as the favourites for the Premier League this year, but are now two without a win after Neto fired in stoppage time to sink Frank Lampard’s men.
Olivier Giroud had put Chelsea ahead early in the second half as his effort sneaked under Rui Patricio, with a buzz on referee Stuart Attwell’s wrist confirming it crossed the line.
But the night turned into a struggle from there onwards and Podence’s shot, which clipped off Reece James’ leg, levelled proceedings.
It could have been worse for Chelsea, if it was not for VAR, after a foul on Neto was overturned after a penalty was initially given.
But the blow came late on as Neto struck in added time.
Here is how Dave Armitage, our man at Molineux, rated the performances…
